The Shed was created with the young people of our island in mind. Every week we see up to 200 young people come through our doors to the various clubs we have running.
We seek to make every young person know their worth and to support them where they need it. The Shed would not be the same without the fun and vibrancy that they bring!
We offer a range of clubs that cater to P7-S3 and put on various events throughout the year such as themed club nights, bonfire night, annual beach and BBQ and we always seek to bring what the youth enjoy most!
Here's an insight into what goes on at the Shed!
THURSDAY YOUTH CLUB
Thursday Youth Club kicks off our week of clubs!
We have PS4's, a Wii, Pool table, plenty of board games, ping pong, air hockey and a tuck shop! It's a blast and what's not to love!
Get in touch if you have any questions and come join in the fun!
The Shed is open right after school finishes on a Friday. There is no reason to be bored all afternoon! You can head out for a chippy to enjoy at the Shed, chill, have a game of pool or a competitive board game. The Shed is yours on Friday afternoon!
Saturday p7 club

On Saturdays, it's all about the P7s!
This is a great space for P7s from any primary school to come and meet others in their year group!
Getting to know others before you all transition into secondary school!
With access to our full range of facilities that we have to offer for our other clubs, Saturdays are our busiest day at the Shed!

membership and Volunteering
Come and Join! Membership is free!
Membership is FREE! All that is required for your young person to attend our youth clubs is to fill out our membership forms which you can receive from us upon coming to The Shed or download one here:
Please send your completed form to firstname.lastname@example.org or return them to us directly at the Shed Project.
The only thing they might need money for is to spend at our tuck shop where they can choose from a variety of snacks and beverages.
For those in S4-S6, we offer a volunteering programme through Saltire Awards and Duke of Edinburgh for anyone who may wish to get involved. Volunteering at the Shed entails helping out at the tuck shop, interacting with our young people during clubs and helping to tidy up at the end of clubs. We are very grateful for our young volunteers who serve without fail every week! For more information on the Saltire Award and getting involved through the Shed, please do not hesitate to get in touch!
what people are saying
"MATTHEW HELPED ME TO REGAIN CONFIDENCE AFTER A TOUGH YEAR. IT'S SUCH A CASUAL ATMOSPHERE FOR ANYONE TO TALK TO HIM AND TO GET HELP IF THEY'RE STRUGGLING
"IT'S AMAZING TO HAVE MATTHEW IN THE SCHOOL TO TALK TO. I FELT SO SUPPORTED AND LISTENED TO AND IT REALLY HELPED ME WITH THE SITUATIONS I HAD. I DEFINITELY WOULDN'T HAVE STAYED IN SCHOOL IF IT WASN 'T FOR BEING ABLE TO TALK TO MATTHEW."
"I KNOW I CAN COME HERE WHEN THINGS ARE GOING BADLY IN SCHOOL OR AT HOME AND I ALWAYS FEEL LISTENED TO, VALUED AND SUPPORTED. IT'S HELPED SO MUCH"
With the pressures that young people are facing today, we have strived to create a space where young people are comfortable and confident to speak and work through their struggles. With partnerships with the local High school as well as working with the local Primary schools, The Shed Youth team is available to speak with and work with any youth who just need a listening ear in a space of no judgement and no pressure.
If you know or are a young person who would like to meet up with one of our team members, please be in touch either through our "Contact Us" page, or through social media and we will reply as soon as possible.
