Your Family and Safe Families
We have a network of volunteers who give their time and skills to you and your family. The volunteers are people willing, without pay, to provide support and friendship to a family going through a tough time; just like a good friend, neighbour, or grandparent.
They have all had an enhanced police check to ensure they are safe to work with you and your family. We have also spoken to them, been to their homes, and given them training, so we know they will help you safely. Their home and family has been approved as a good and safe place for a child to be.
Safe Families Western Isles accept referrals from families who have a child/children ages 3-15. There are no limits on who can refer, and we also accept self-referrals. Referral agencies can include Schools, GP’s, Health Visitors, Mental Health, Social Work etc. To make a referral for someone or for yourself, please contact the team
