Events and Fundraisers
We believe that every young person deserves a safe and supportive place to hang out with their friends and be themselves. That's why The Shed is such an important resource for our community. Our aim is to not only provide a safe space for young people to come and hang out but also to support them in any way we can. We run various fundraising events throughout the year to help keep our centre running and provide the best services for our young visitors, as well as various events through the year for young people within the community to attend.

The Shed Project and Pointers Youth Centre are working together to ensure we maximise the services and opportunities available for young people on our island this summer holiday!

Past Events, Activities and Fundraisers
Youth Trips
During a recent trip to Ness, the S1-S6 students had an enjoyable evening of bowling and pizza. The students were excited to participate in the friendly competition and eat great food. It was a memorable trip that created lasting memories.
Fireworks Night
In November, we hosted a spectacular event that brought together friends for an evening of fun and excitement. We enjoyed warm beverages to keep cosy and enjoyed some great karaoke and sparklers. The festive atmosphere made it a night to remember.
End of Year P7 Club
Our end of year P7 club is a fun afternoon for young people to come long and enjoy a final time together. With activities and games for everyone, we're excited to host this special day at our youth club. Every year, it's a memorable celebration!
End of Year Fun Day
The end of year clubs and drop-in for the S1-S6 students are always a great shout! There are games, activities, Pizza parties or BBQs and extra items to bring the end of the year to a close in celebration. We can't to do it again every year!
Children in Need Fundraiser
Our past Children in Need night's are a huge success! S1-6 students are invited to dress up and donate to the cause. We collect a small donation that goes towards Children In Need. Thank you to everyone who participates and helps make a difference!
Christmas Clubs
Our clubs with a Christmas theme are a triumph! There is great enjoyment with everyone while engaging in games and activities that are in line with the holiday spirit, and fantastic prizes. It was a wonderful way to spread joy and get into the festive mood.
Themed Nights
At Thursday Youth Nights, we love to mix things up with our themed nights! From pancake night to quiz night, bonfire night to Children in Need, we've got something for everyone. Our themed nights are a great way to bring everyone together and have some fun. So come on down and join us for our next themed night - you won't want to miss it
Tournaments
At our youth clubs, we offer a variety of tournaments. From FIFA to pool to Uno, we have something for everyone. Our tournaments are a great way to showcase your skills, and have fun. Join us for our next tournament and see what all the excitement is about!
Past Events and Fundraiser's
Trips to the Sport Centre
On one of our Thursday Themed nights for club, we went to the sports centre where we hosted a fun and active evening. The group played dodgeball, badminton, and basketball, leaving everyone feeling energized. The event was a success and the participants are looking forward to the next opportunity to play sports together.
Christmas Carolling
In previous years during the holiday season, our S1-S6 students from youth clubs came together to spread some Christmas cheer. They visited various care homes around Stornoway and sang carols for the residents. The joy and happiness on the faces of the elderly was heart-warming. It was a wonderful experience for everyone involved, and we look forward to continuing this in the future.
Silent Disco
The town hall was buzzing with excitement as S1-S6 students gathered for a silent disco night. The atmosphere was electric as students danced to their favorite tunes, each with their own set of headphones. The event was a huge success, with students raving about the unique experience. It was a night to remember for everyone involved.
Bag Packing Fundraiser
We've previously completed bag packing fundraisers at Tesco to raise funds for youth events and trips. The fundraiser saw S1-S6 students coming together to help pack bags and raise money for a good cause. The fundraiser was a great success, and we were grateful for everyone who contributed and donated. We extend our gratitude to Tesco for their support.
